KNOW THE FACTS:

  • IF passed, homeowners would pay an additional $16.00 per month per $100,000 of home value and residents would also pay a 1% tax on earned income.

  • This would generate $7.8 million annually for the district

​

  • Funding from the levy would help maintain the district's day-to-day operations, including staff, utilities, textbooks, and supplies.

​

  • An earned income tax applies to money received from working, such as wages, salaries and tips

​

  • Social security and other retirement pensions would not be subject to this tax, nor would unemployment compensation

​

  • The last time Mansfield City Schools secured new operating funds was through an emergency levy 2013

​

  • Registered voters living within Mansfield City Schools district boundaries will have the opportunity to vote on this combined operating and income tax levy

​

  • If passed, the incremental tax will impact residents who live within the district

​

  • Money from this levy stays in Mansfield and benefits Mnsfield City Schools
