A Note from the Superintendent
    #HEARUSROAR

I am thrilled and humbled to be blessed with the opportunity to return to our district as your superintendent. During 28 years as a Tyger teacher, football coach, track coach, and administrator – and 13 more with The Ohio State University football program – my priority has always been helping young people develop to their full potential.

Mansfield City Schools has an outstanding team of teachers, administrators and support staff who share my commitment to academic reform and a conducive learning environment built on love and caring. We are dedicated to building on our successes.

Our Spanish Immersion School is a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School and an Ohio High Performing School of Honor. From a 2008 opening with a dozen kindergarten children, it now has 240 students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Springmill STEM Elementary, the only Ohio Department of Education-designated STEM school in Richland County, has added two fourth-grade classes, making it a full K-4 building.

Our pre-kindergarten program has a 5-Star Step Up to Quality rating, the highest awarded by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family services. This rating recognizes the highest quality of learning and development, staff qualifications and family and community partnerships.

The highly successful Career Technical Education program at Mansfield Senior High School offers hands-on training in 11 disciplines which prepare graduates for college, the workforce or the military. Many leave Senior High with earned college credits and state certification or licenses in their respective fields. The Mansfield Senior High Class of 2019 left with more than $3 million in post-secondary scholarships.

While our district provides many opportunities, we can do much more. Our schools and our entire community can grow and thrive together but we need the involvement, ideas and support of our parents, our grandparents, every business and community organization.

The TY-Tyger roar -- #HearUsRoar -- is back and growing stronger each day. Please join us on the path to a bright future that knows no limits.

Please join us throughout the year on the Internet at Tygerpride.com, on Facebook at Mansfield City School District  and on Twitter, @MCS Tygers.

We welcome your ideas and suggestions. Please feel free to contact me at jefferson.stan@mansfieldschools.org or 419-525-6432.

    Thank you for your support,

  Stan Jefferson
